That’s a great picture! I’m thinking of entering this contest. It sounds like fun!

    Thanks Laura.
Lots to choose from this month…which I think makes picking out a single one quite hard!
I look forward to seeing your entry.

Goodness! What is it with your garden and amorous anoles? Obvious which one is the husband (wonder what he did this time to get his tail chewed off…).

    I know!
I do seem to keep entering pictures of these little chaps don’t I.
Perhaps this anole was having an affair with the young lady up in the nest box? Oh yes, he is most definitely getting some serious stink-eye!

I’m starting to envy you your anoles! You get some great images with those lizards.

I love this image, it is romantic and funny and artistic and intriguing all at once. I mean, what happened to the other anole’s tail? I can make a whole story just out of that one aspect of the image.

    Good luck in the contest!

    Hi.
This image was taken some time back, as soon as I shot this they jumped, I was not sure if the shutter went off in time. I was working next to my giant timber bamboo yesterday when an anole, I guess after a bug, leaped onto my shoulder! I looked over my left shoulder to see a small anole giving me one of their typical “And who are you?” stares, just before it realized where it had ended up and jumped for safety! Too funny.

Glad you liked the image, I also liked this shot for the story factor – what did happen to him?

    Thanks.

What did one anole say to the other anole? “Get your paw off me Stubby, or you’ll lose it like you did your tail”.

    Brutal!

Line, simplicity in color and range, still life, yet great movement in the photo -absolutely wonderful image and a winner!

    Hi Diana.
Thanks very much. I also found it funny that one anole has lost it’s tail and the other seems to have the longest anole tail ever!
